Canique Smartmeter Sense can use an infrared adapter to read, decode and decrypt consumption data from the smart meter and send it wirelessly to a base station.

Smart meter Password

Please enter your smart meter password when ordering so that your Smartmeter Sense can be sent to you fully configured.

You will receive the smart meter password from your network operator.

In the case of Wiener Netze, for example, go to https://smartmeter-web.wienernetze.at/, switch to the ‘Anlagendaten’ menu, click on ‘Bearbeiten’ for your meter and activate the ‘Benutzerschnittstelle’. Activation can take several weeks. As soon as your customer interface is activated (i.e. as soon as the infrared LED on your smart meter goes on), you can click on ‘Schlüssel anzeigen’. The key displayed is your smart meter password.

Radio message format

The standard format transmits your consumption (watts and watt hours). Select this format if you do not have a solar system.

The extended format transmits, in addition to the values of the standard format, how much energy you feed into the power grid (watts and watt hours). Select this format if you also want to transmit the feed-in of your solar system.

Please note that, as of October 2024, even if the feed-in is transmitted, this data is not displayed in the Canique web interface of the Pico Gateway. Currently you can only see consumption data. However, the feed-in data is available via MQTT.

Transmission Interval

The standard transmission interval is 15 seconds, i.e. your current consumption and your total consumption are captured and sent every 15 seconds. If you want a different interval, you can specify this on request.

Enclosure

The enclosure is manufactured using the 3D printing process.

The standard enclosure may have colour deviations, i.e. it is not homogeneously grey.

The housing printed using the SLS process has a texture, is homogeneously grey and looks very elegant.
